Sally Lunn's Historic Eating House & Museum

Sally Lunn's isn't a conventional tiered-stand afternoon tea, and that's the point. Set in one of the oldest houses in Bath, its two-course high tea is built around the famous Sally Lunn Bunn — a large, brioche-like regional speciality — served both savoury and sweet with a pot of the house Sally Lunn's Blend tea or an Americano, at an indicative ~£22 per person. That makes it comfortably the cheapest pick here and the one with the deepest local history, complete with a small kitchen museum in the cellar. You trade the finger-sandwich-and-pastry ritual and the grand rooms of the hotels for something more casual, more filling and more distinctly Bath. Choose it over the Regency Tea Room if you'd rather eat the city's signature bun than sit through a full themed stand.
