IKEA Trotten (manual)

If your budget will not stretch to a motor, the Trotten is the sensible entry point: a manual, hand-cranked sit-stand desk with a 72–122 cm range, up to 50 kg load and IKEA's 10-year guarantee, from £179 for the 120×70 cm version. Raising and lowering it takes a few seconds of cranking rather than a button press, and there are no presets, motors or charging — but it is sturdy, cheap and comes with the same in-store and returns convenience as the Mittzon. It is the honest budget choice: fine if you will mostly leave it at one height and adjust occasionally, less ideal if you will switch between sitting and standing many times a day.
