If your calling environment is the problem, the Voyager Focus 2 is the answer. Its noise-cancelling boom mic pairs with Poly's Acoustic Fence technology to create a focused pickup zone around your mouth, so keyboard clatter, housemates and open-plan hubbub stay out of the call. Three levels of hybrid active noise cancellation let you tune out distractions on your side too, and unusually for a boom-mic headset the music playback has genuine warmth and depth. Comfort is strong for long shifts, and the boom responds to a purposeful push or tug for muting. It is a premium tool aimed at people on calls all day, and the ~£230 list price reflects that, but it regularly sells for far less, so it is well worth waiting for a discount.
The good & the bad
Pros
- Class-leading mic isolation with Acoustic Fence keeps background noise off the call
- Three-level hybrid ANC plus surprisingly rich music sound
- Comfortable and well-built for full days of calls
Cons
- List price is high (~£230), so it is best bought on discount
- Bulkier and more office-looking than a consumer headphone
