Tunisia (Hammamet & Djerba)

Tunisia is the value play for travellers who want to keep both the flight and the bill short. Hammamet on the mainland and the island of Djerba further south are the pick for winter, with all-inclusive prices at the bottom of the market and a flight of only around three hours. The honest picture on weather is that this is the mildest destination on our list in the depths of winter: December and January highs sit in the mid-teens to around 18C, so it suits relaxed resort days, spa time and sightseeing more than serious beach weather, and it warms up more dependably at the shoulders of the season.
