Nell's Pizza

Nell's swaps the Neapolitan template for thin, crisp New York-style pizza, sold whole or by the slice in 14-inch and 22-inch sizes - built for splitting across a table. It began at Northern Quarter bar Common during the pandemic and has grown to Kampus, Chorlton, Altrincham and MediaCity, with the Kampus site offering canal-side outdoor seating. The kitchen slow-ferments its dough for around 36 hours using British organic Shipton Mill flour. It sits fourth because the New York style, while excellent for its type, is a less specialist proposition than the top three's Neapolitan and sourdough craft, and aggregated review scores run a touch lower. Choose it over the higher picks when you are in a group, want to grab a slice, or need somewhere flexible and buzzy rather than a dedicated pizza pilgrimage.
