Plates made history in February 2025 as the first fully plant-based restaurant in Great Britain and Ireland to win a Michelin star, awarded to chef Kirk Haworth's intimate Shoreditch counter. The format is tasting-menu-only across roughly 25 covers: a Signature eight-course menu at an indicative £109 per person, or a ten-course Discovery menu at around £125 per person, with wine pairings running from about £55 to £105. It is the one London vegan room holding the credential none of the others can claim, which is why it tops the list for a genuine destination occasion rather than an everyday dinner. The trade-offs are real and worth planning around: booking runs through Tock with a £65-per-person deposit and a common waitlist, there are no under-12s from January 2026, and the kitchen states it cannot accommodate nut, soy or allium allergies. All prices are indicative and worth confirming when you book.

  • No under-12s, and the kitchen cannot handle nut, soy or allium allergies
