Most of what actually protects your teeth is here for a small fraction of the iO's price: effective oscillating-rotating cleaning, a two-minute timer with quadrant pacing, and a pressure sensor. The Pro 3's sensor lights up a ring around the whole neck when you press too hard, which is arguably clearer than some pricier models. There's no app and no colour screen, but neither does much for your gums, and brush heads are the cheap, widely stocked standard Oral-B range, which keeps long-term running costs down. For most people, this is the sensible buy.
