Blueair's compact 411i Max is the pick when noise and footprint matter most. Its HEPASilent approach lightly charges particles and then catches them in a mechanical filter, letting it move air at lower fan speed and therefore lower noise, so the lowest setting is genuinely unobtrusive overnight. Blueair states the process is ozone-free, addressing the usual worry about electrostatic purifiers. The washable fabric pre-filter sleeve catches larger dust and pet hair (and comes in swappable colours), while the main filter handles the fine allergen fraction. The 'i Max' adds a particle sensor, Wi-Fi and app-driven auto mode over the plain 411. It's sized for small-to-medium rooms (around 19-20 m2) rather than open-plan living, so match it to a bedroom or study rather than trying to cover a whole floor.

The good & the bad

Pros

  • Very quiet on low, well suited to running all night in a bedroom
  • Compact footprint with a washable, colour-swappable pre-filter sleeve
  • App control with sensor-driven auto mode; ozone-free operation

Cons

  • Best for small-to-medium rooms, not large open-plan spaces
  • HEPASilent isn't a classic sealed H13 system some buyers prefer
  • Fabric pre-filter sleeves are an occasional extra cost
