What does the energy rating on a heat pump tumble dryer mean?
Be careful with the label. Many retailers still print an old 'A+++' rating, but that's the pre-2021 scale. Under the current UK/EU label everything was rescaled, and most heat-pump dryers now fall in class A–C — the Hisense here, for example, reads class C on the new label. Because the credible models cluster around 190–194 kWh/year, we suggest comparing annual kWh and the new-label letter rather than a legacy 'A+++' sticker.
