Where to get it
Monzo
Free account; paid tiers Extra ~£3/month, Perks ~£9/month, Max from ~£19/month
Indicative price at the time of review.
Monzo isn't a standalone tracker, it's a fully licensed, FSCS-protected UK bank whose budgeting tools live inside the account itself. Instant spending notifications, automatic category tracking and Trends give you real-time insight into where your money goes, while Pots let you ring-fence cash for bills, savings and goals; Bills Pots can even automate your direct debits so the money's always there. Because the data comes from your own current account, there's nothing to sync or reconnect. Monzo has restructured its paid plans into Extra (~£3/month), Perks (~£9/month) and Max (from ~£19/month), which add perks and the option to see other banks' accounts alongside Monzo. The catch: on the free account, budgeting only covers money held with Monzo, so you get the most from it as your main account.
