Legoland Windsor is the rare theme park designed for younger children rather than teenagers, which is exactly why it tops this list. Its 50-plus rides and attractions are pitched at the 2 to 12 bracket, so small visitors are not left watching from the sidelines: the driving school where kids earn a licence, the DUPLO Valley water play area, the gentle Dragon coaster, LEGO MYTHICA and the intricate Miniland model city all reward little hands and short attention spans. It is a big site on a hill, so plan a full day, wear comfortable shoes and use the app to time your rides. Booking online in advance is markedly cheaper than gate prices (from roughly £34 versus higher on the day), children under 90cm go free, and parking is charged separately. Peak summer and half-term days get busy, so arrive at opening.

The good & the bad

Pros

  • Rides and attractions genuinely aimed at younger children, not just teens
  • Strong mix of rides, shows, water play and hands-on building for a full day
  • Advance online tickets and short breaks offer meaningful savings; under-90cm kids free

Cons

  • Gate prices are steep and on-site food, parking and extras add up quickly
  • Long queues and a large, hilly site on peak days can tire out little legs
