The Sky Garden crowns the 'Walkie-Talkie' tower and offers, at no cost, one of the best high-level views in London — a genuine alternative to paid decks like The Shard. Three storeys of terraced greenery lead to an open-air terrace looking out over the Thames, Tower Bridge and the City skyline. Entry is free; a free timed ticket is strongly recommended and can be booked in advance, released on a rolling basis roughly three weeks ahead, with new batches typically going live on Monday mornings, and the best slots (especially sunset) can sell out within the hour, so plan early. Limited walk-in entry is sometimes available subject to capacity, but booking ahead is the safer bet. There are bars and restaurants up top if you want a drink, but you are under no obligation to spend. Arrive slightly before your slot and use the dedicated Sky Garden entrance rather than the office reception.
