The Star Inn at Harome
A la carte mains from ~£28
Indicative price at the time of review.
On the edge of the North York Moors, The Star Inn at Harome is the quintessential English country dining pub, a thatched, timber-framed 14th-century inn where Andrew Pern has cooked ambitious, regionally rooted food for close to three decades and holds a Michelin star. Menus lean hard on Yorkshire game, moorland lamb, local cheeses and foraged and garden produce, delivered with real refinement but without losing the warmth of a village local. Rebuilt and reopened in 2023 after a devastating fire in 2021, it remains one of the best reasons to eat out in the North of England, and there are rooms nearby if you want to make a night of it.
