A short drive from Woodbridge, The Unruly Pig has become one of the most decorated gastropubs in the country, named the UK's best gastropub at the 2024 Estrella Damm Top 50 Gastropubs awards and a perennial fixture near the top of the list since. Chef Dave Wall's self-styled 'Britalian' cooking marries excellent local Suffolk produce with Italian technique and warmth, house-made pasta alongside proper roasts and coastal fish, and the result is confident without ever feeling stuffy. Add characterful, art-strewn interiors and notably friendly service, and you have a pub that shows Michelin recognition is not the only measure of a great gastropub.
