Shark Stratos Cordless
Our verdict · Anti-hair-wrap tech and a bendable wand make this the sensible all-rounder for most homes.

Shark's Stratos is the model we would steer most households towards. The DuoClean floorhead pairs a bristle roller with a soft roller to handle carpet and hard floors without swapping heads, and Shark's anti-hair-wrap system genuinely keeps the brushroll clear of tangles rather than leaving you to cut hair off with scissors. Clean Sense IQ reads the dirt level and adjusts power on the fly, while the Flexology wand bends to reach under low furniture and folds so the vacuum free-stands for storage. A removable battery runs to around 60 minutes, and an odour-neutralising cartridge in the bin keeps pet smells down. It undercuts the Dyson flagships heavily while covering the same everyday jobs.
The good & the bad
Pros
- Anti-hair-wrap brushroll stays tangle-free with pet and human hair
- Bendable, free-standing wand reaches under furniture and stores without a bracket
- Removable battery so you can carry a spare for larger homes
Cons
- Bulkier and less premium-feeling than a slimline Dyson
- Filtration is effective but not sealed to the same whole-machine HEPA standard as top rivals
