The Powerbeats Pro 2 pair a redesigned, slimmer nickel-titanium (nitinol) earhook with the Apple H2 chip, so you get a genuinely stable fit alongside proper adaptive noise cancelling and a transparency mode. The headline feature for runners is the optical heart-rate sensor in each bud, which feeds real-time data to compatible fitness apps and equipment on both iPhone and Android, so you can leave the chest strap at home. Battery life is strong at up to 10 hours per bud with ANC off (nearer 8 hours with it on), backed by around 45 hours total with the case, and IPX4 covers sweaty sessions. It tops the ranking because no other pick here combines a lock-in fit, effective ANC and heart-rate tracking in one bud; the open-ear Shokz below keeps you more aware in traffic but seals nothing and sounds thinner. They are pricey and the case is noticeably large for a pocket, so skip them if you mainly run busy roads and want your ears open, or simply want to spend less.
