Set in the Oxfordshire grounds of the UNESCO-listed Blenheim Palace, this trail pairs polished light installations with one of the most dramatic backdrops in England. The roughly one-mile route takes in illuminated avenues of trees, colour-changing tunnels, water features and interactive moments, before the floodlit palace and its forecourt deliver a genuinely memorable sound-and-light finale. Walking Capability Brown's landscape after dark gives the whole evening a real sense of occasion, and it takes around an hour at a gentle pace. It is a touch more compact than Kew but no less atmospheric. Fire pits, festive food and a Christmas market round out the visit, so budget time either side of the walk itself.
