Dunham Massey Christmas Light Trail
From ~£19 pp
Indicative price at the time of review.
Dunham Massey's trail is the most accessible big-name option for families in Greater Manchester and the North West, set in the National Trust's historic deer park and gardens. The roughly one-mile route is manageable for little legs, with colour-changing installations, light tunnels, illuminated trees and interactive moments that keep children engaged without an overwhelming crowd. It is not on the scale of Kew or Blenheim, but it is well organised, sensibly priced and among the easiest here to reach without a car, which makes it a genuinely practical choice for a weeknight family outing. Note that the light trail is a separately ticketed event, so National Trust membership does not include free entry, and parking is best pre-booked as it fills quickly.
