fforest is one of the UK's original design-led glamping destinations, spread across a 200-acre farm between Cardigan and the coast beside the Teifi gorge and Teifi Marshes nature reserve. Each geodesic dome has a solid wood floor, wood-burning stove, bespoke furniture and a huge bay window framing the view; there are also kata cabins that pair a timber hut with a canvas tipi, plus bell tents and 'onsen' domes with a sunken bath and indoor en-suite. The draw is the whole ethos — a wood-fired sauna and cold plunge, a lodge serving communal breakfasts and dinners, and easy access to coasteering and the Ceredigion coast path. The standard domes share stylish bathroom blocks rather than being fully en-suite, so check the unit, but for couples who value atmosphere and design over pure privacy it's hard to beat.
The good & the bad
Pros
- Beautifully designed domes and cabins with wood-burners and big views
- Wood-fired sauna, plunge pool and a lodge serving proper communal meals
- Excellent base for the Welsh coast path, coasteering and the Teifi gorge
Cons
- Standard domes use shared (if smart) bathroom facilities rather than en-suite
- Minimum-stay rules and set arrival days can limit short breaks
