Tucked into the Blackmore Vale near Shillingstone, between Blandford Forum and Sturminster Newton, Loose Reins is a family-run farm with a handful of Wild West–themed cedar cabins and larger canvas lodges, each with its own chlorine-free eco hot tub. Inside you get a king-size bed, a wood-burner, a fully equipped kitchen and a private shower room, so you can happily cook in or soak under the stars without leaving your deck. The three cabins sleep up to four and the lodges take larger groups; it's dog-friendly, genuinely private and ringed by farm animals and walking country towards Hambledon and Hod Hill, which makes it one of the most relaxing hot-tub retreats in the South West. There's little to do on site beyond unwind — that's the point — so bring supplies and settle in.
