Kudhva
Our verdict · Design-award off-grid cabins for adventurous couples who want raw coast over creature comforts.
Book it if
You're drawn to striking architecture, wild swimming and coast-path adventure and don't mind a walk to shared facilities.
Skip it if
You need heating at the flick of a switch, step-free access or an en-suite by the bed — this is deliberately off-grid.

Kudhva
From ~£115/night (cabins, indicative)
Indicative price at the time of review.
Kudhva occupies a long-abandoned 45-acre slate quarry above Trebarwith Strand, a mile or so from Tintagel, and it's unlike anywhere else on this list. The signature Kudhva cabins (K2, K3, K4) are angular, stilted timber pods reached by ladder, designed by an award-winning studio and featured in the international design press; there's also a Danish cabin with a stream running beneath its terrace and canvas teepees in a clifftop field with 180-degree sea views. It's off-grid and pared-back — expect shared facilities, a sociable bar and sauna, and a focus on the wild setting, the site's own 40-foot waterfall and the nearby coast path rather than in-cabin luxury. For couples who rate architecture and adventure over hot tubs and room service, it's a standout; just go in knowing it's rustic by design.
