Rudding Park
From ~£220pp per night
Indicative price at the time of review.
Rudding Park has become one of the most decorated spas in the north of England, and the rooftop spa is why. Up top you get a hydrotherapy pool and a run of thermal and heat experiences, plus an Escape Zone and a spa garden where couples can retreat between treatments, all nodding to Harrogate's Victorian spa-town past and its natural spring waters. The treatment list is broad and the setting, on a country estate just outside the town, is easy to reach yet feels a world away. It edges below the five-star names on outright polish and price, which is precisely what makes it such good value for a couples' spa day extended into an overnight. The main hotel welcomes families and events, so if you want strict calm, time your visit midweek and stick to the spa.
